I am a final year PhD Candidate in Molecular Biology, Genetics and Bioengineering program of Sabanci University, supervised by Prof. Uğur Sezerman. I am also the chairperson of a spin-off biotech company, called Epigenetiks, which we co-founded with my PhD supervisor.
I am currently working on determining factors that drive personal DNA methylation aberrations in cancer patients. During my Ph.D., I have previously worked in developing in silico prediction methods for multiple post-translational modifications, such as sumoylation and neddylation.
Previously, I attained my M.Sc. degree in Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology from Imperial College London. Before that, I received my B.Sc. degree in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering program of Sabanci University.
Broadly, my research interests include (but are not limited to) -omics data analysis, disease genomics, machine learning, and tool development.

I am a huge fan of Python and an avid follower of direct-to-consumer genetic tests and cloud-based tools.
